After emerging a year ago to the day with their wonderfully fresh and heartfelt debut EP ‘Late Night Luxury’, Melbourne-based outfit Junior Bones are back to offer up their captivating new single ‘The Fallout in You’.
Continuing the same strong and confident songwriting they’re quickly earning a reputation for, ‘The Fallout in You’ is expansive, driving and attention seeking - fulfilling the genre blending sound Junior Bones can call their own.
Written as a cathartic outlet for a painful breakup, Temby put the dark chapter along with an acoustic demo of the song behind him. But the band had other ideas, seeing its potential as a dancy, electro new-wave track that just had to be heard. The tribe insisted, the song came to life, and it's here to stay.
“This song started out as an acoustic dirge written after a very raw breakup. I had also moved back in with my parents, sleeping on the fold-out couch in their office – the third time in four years so it was a bit of a low point for me.
The plan for the song was to channel all these raw shitty emotions into one place so I could lock it up, throw away the key, be done with it, move on with my life and never hear or play the song again.
But a few years later I played it to the band and they loved it – especially Gav who immediately had a vision for the song - seeing its potential as a foray into EDM landscapes. So it came out of the vault and evolved into this catchy, dark, dancy/ new wave/ electro three minute pop song - and made me face a lot of emotions I hadn’t quite dealt with at the time.” Ryan Temby (Vocals/Guitar)
Drawing influence from psych-rock, indie-pop, post-punk, and new wave. Junior Bones have had comparisons made to bands such as Temple of the Dog, Gang of Youths and Radiohead. These Melbournites create a sonic landscape without even breaking a sweat. They weave and create with all members buying into the ideals of the band of not being generic.

lyrics
I could have figured you out
My Poirot to your thief
You said you’re set on devout
Were you even thinking of me?
Your Philosophy: All in all, you gave, I yawned
Again, don't understand what you mean
When, you send, that thought
It's breaking every part of me
When, you hurt, don’t call,
It's tearing through the heart of me
When you send that thought
The air is warm overnight, I fell asleep on the beach
You should have put up a fight
And that was all we could be
Your philosophy: beg, and plead, let go, release
Know we give what we want to receive
When you send that thought
It’s breaking every part of me
When you hurt, don’t call
It’s tearing through the heart of me
When you send that thought
It’s breaking every part of me
When you hurt, don’t call
Take away: the fallout in you, is nuclear and won’t let your guard down
Four perfect circles of light
A trial of strength underneath
Fir Branches held out aloft
Sheltering you and me
Your philosophy: All in all, you gave, I yawned
Again, don’t understand what you mean
